As for the classes themselves, my Italian friends tell me that a traditional Italian law classes is lecture. One professor conducts the class much like my law classes back at ASU. He expects the whole class to have done the reading, which is fairly extensive, and he cold calls. He will start on the back row – Did you read? Did you read? Did you read? – until he hits someone who did.
